In coming up on eight short weeks, we have learned a lot about not only the workings of American Government, we have learned about the debates surrounding its founding, the rationale behind the formulation of the Constitution of the United States, the meaning and significance of civil liberties and civil rights, explored the three branches of government, and learned to use current events surrounding American politics to tie it all together.
It is to be 6-7 pages long, and it is to be emailed to me directly.
At least four assigned sources must be used in your answer, and one of them must be a source from the media. You may use as many media sources as you wish, but the media, collectively, count as a single source. Assigned sources of course can be drawn from the required books, and anything uploaded in Week by Week.
FINAL EXAM: Choose which of the seven topics on the syllabus we have explored that has interested you the most, analyze that topic in an extended fashion, and tie it in with at least two current events pertaining to American government and politics we have explored all semester. By “current” events in this case I mean any current events that have happened since this course began. Your goal is to pick and choose which two are most apropos to your chosen topic, and to use them to bolster your analysis.
There is much to choose from, so start thinking about this now. Make an outline first. Revisit the “How To Write A Paper” upload, it will save you a lot of time and vexation. Remember, an outline isn’t “extra work”, it IS the work. Once you have a good outline, writing the paper will be like filling in the blanks.
Please consult me early and often with any questions, and I am happy to read your outline and make helpful suggestions.
