Interpretive Paper Instructions

Read Numbers 14:26–35 and discuss God’s vow against the Israelites (Numbers 14:28–32) explaining why it happened and the significance of a “vow” when sworn by God. Lastly, the author of Hebrews (Hebrews 3:12–19) applies this text to the church. Analyze how this applies to the church from a broad perspective. Then, analyze it in your own life as a part of the church. This paper must be written in Turabian format and should be between 600–750 words. A bibliography and 5 references must also be included. These 5 references must be from credible commentaries published within the last 15 years.

Read Deuteronomy 30:11–14 and analyze the meaning of these verses. How can a commandment be in one’s mouth and mind? Also, specifically comment on the end of verse 14, “…so that you can do it.” Since Israel was unable to keep most of Yahweh’s commandments, is this verse misleading the Israelites who would have heard it? Finally, why does Paul use these verses in his argumentation in Romans 10:5–10:8? How did it fit his purpose there? This paper must be written in Turabian format and should be between 600–750 words. A bibliography and 5 references must also be included. These 5 references must be from credible commentaries published within the last 15 years.
